Coach Ultimate

Coaches can have a significant and positive impact for players, clubs and teams. Coaching provides an opportunity to join the Ultimate community, and a way to stay connected to the sport. Those who might make excellent coaches are players or ex-players with a passion for the sport, teachers, parents and coaches of other sports.

You’ve decide Ultimate coaching is for you … what next?

If you are already a sports coach or teacher take a look at the options we have to upskill you as an Ultimate coach.

If you are a player, retired player or parent and you are getting into coaching for the first time you will need to consider the following:

  • Coaching qualifications

  • Do you know what your First Aid plan will be?

  • Do you need to consider a safeguarding policy or plan?

  • Do you need any additional training or paperwork? You might need a DBS or specific training for the group you are working with?

  • Do you need to arrange you own insurance? How will you be covered?

  • Are you on the UKU Coach register

We want to find more ways to help clubs, groups and individuals, so we've put our Level 1 Coach Education material online and it’s FREE for UKU Members.* Our aims is to help people take their first steps into coaching, provide easier access to coaching qualifications and offer support to those who are already coaching. We want players and participants to have a brilliant experience, and coaching is a key part of this.
