Teacher Training - UKU Foundation Award

Ultimate is a fantastic option for schools. Children learn new skills, boys and girls play together and the players referee the game themselves using Spirit of the Game.

Having a bag of discs in your sports equipment cupboard can help engage children put-off by traditional sports, broaden opportunities and develop a wider range of skills for all.

This course is suitable for teachers, trainee teachers, PE specialists, senior leadership, teaching assistants, SGOs ..etc, working with Key Stage 2 and upwards. Ultimate has a number of cross-curricular possibilities, from learning about the physics of flight to developing literacy, numeracy and social skills through the process of self-officiating and Spirit of the Game. We are happy to run combined sessions for teachers and young leaders (see more information below) if you are struggling for numbers or see benefits of running a session for both groups together. You will learn how to play and teach Ultimate, explore and develop disc skills and teaching techniques for throwing and catching. You will experience self-officiation and Spirit of the Game. and have the opportunity to explore and create your own activities using discs.
