Junior, Youth & Schools Ultimate
Getting started
Are you a teacher?
Ultimate is a great sport for schools. It’s mixed gender, requires minimal equipment and is very easy to get started. Find out more about discs, teacher training, School Games and more in our Teacher Guide.
Are you a young player?
So you’ve had an intro to Ultimate and you’re hooked, what next? Take a look at our club map with your adults at home to see if there is any Ultimate in your area. Some adult clubs will take older teens and we are seeing more junior clubs all the time. Get your friends involved, ask your teachers if you can start a club at school, keep an eye out for news and opportunity on our website, social media and newsletters. Even if there is limited opportunity to play and train, keep developing your skills by throwing with friends and family as often as you can, with great disc skills you are sure to make a great team in the future!
Are you a parent or coach?
Sometimes there just isn’t anywhere for your child to play locally. Could you set up a local junior club? Would you like to talk to other parents who’ve been through this process? For those new to Ultimate we have created a simple Parent Guide to help you get started.
Local Competition
Playing against other children and teams is great motivation and can help young players improve and have something to work towards. We know that not all clubs can or want to attend our National Championships. Local competition can be organised between schools, clubs or even between small groups that don’t quite yet have the numbers for a full competition. If you have an idea for a small-scale local Junior competition and would like guidance, please get in touch admin@ukultimate.com

School Games
We want to see more opportunities for children and young people to play and compete locally.
In the long-term we will align Junior Mixed Outdoor Nationals as the UK National Finals at the end of The School Games pathway.
