Donations

Every year some people suggest to us that they would happily pay more for membership to allow us to do more as an organisation, so we’ve introduced a donations option to allow people to support UKU projects or causes.

Thank you. Donations to our UK Ultimate general fund support all of our activities and programmes.

How does donating work?

You can choose to donate when making a membership payment or by donating directly above.

If you’re looking to make a donation towards an area not listed, or you’d like to donate towards something specific, please get in touch with us directly by emailing admin@ukultimate.com

Is UK Ultimate a charity?

UK Ultimate is a not-for-profit organisation, but we are not a charity, so you cannot gift-aid a donation. Historically we have had very little reason to do the work to become a charity and the professional advice we received on this question was that the additional administrative and regulatory burden would likely offset any financial benefits. It is a question we review from time to time.

Partnership opportunities

If you are a business or organisation and would like to consider partnering with UK Ultimate so we can promote your brand as well as receiving your support, please take look at the information here. You can find our current partners in our footer.

With all donations we'll do our best to direct them towards the cause specified however should the donations for one cause prove insufficient to make any meaningful impact in that area we'll look to redirect them towards other, similar causes.

  • GB Ultimate

Playing Ultimate for Great Britain is expensive. We have no reason to think this will change in the near future. We guess that most players spend £1.5k-£2.5k a year whilst competing in a GB team (including travel and accommodation at the tournament, but also the cost of training sessions, warm-up tournaments and so on).

Donations to the GB Programme will go towards building a fund that we use to reduce some costs that players currently have to meet when competing for a GB team.

Our first goal is to cover the cost of the medical staff that support the teams during competition. We will prioritise support to the most expensive events first, working towards all players having the same medical costs initially, and then hopefully reducing that cost to zero. Over the long-run these costs are approximately £1500 per team, although all costs associated with GB teams can vary greatly, depending on the location of the event.
