Women's BUCS League update

Update 4th Nov: Fixtures are in place for all teams in all five leagues on Sat 12th November. The details should now be up to date in BUCS Play.

We have been working with BUCS and AU staff to try to ensure all of the Women’s BUCS leagues have fully planned fixtures in place - including matches on Sat 12th November. There are still some loose-ends to tidy up, but our understanding and expectation is that ALL FIVE LEAGUES will have fixtures involving ALL TEAMS on Sat 12th November.

  • We believe BUCS Play to be up to date and accurate for South-East, West and North(*).

  • Midlands matches on Sat 12th November are due to take place in Warwick, and hopefully BUCS Play will show the details next week.

  • Scotland matches on Sat 12th Nov are expected to take place in St Andrews, but we are awaiting final confirmation. Again we expect BUCS Play will show the details next week.

Later this year we are planning to consult with teams and players regarding the pros and cons of the current central venue fixture approach to the Women’s BUCS leagues.

(*) Manchester has withdrawn from the North league, and so the matches between Lancaster, Manchester, Newcastle and York on 12th Nov may not be exactly at the times shown on BUCS Play. These matches were planned to be played in Manchester, but given their withdrawal we are checking whether any of the other universities has availability to host instead. The schedule of games on 4th Feb may also be adjusted to take account of this.
